Sweden-based Lignin Industries has partnered with Hellyar Plastics, an independent UK-based compounder and distributor of polymers, to accelerate the market introduction and commercial scaling of its patented bio-based plastic technology. The collaboration aims to reduce the packaging industry’s reliance on fossil fuels.After five years of R&D, Lignin Industries has developed Renol, a patented bio-based material developed from lignin. The process is to incorporate lignin into recyclable bio-based plastic, creating a sustainable alternative to conventional materials.
