21 Oct 2021 --- Nextek’s Nextloopp project for converting post-consumer polypropylene (PP) into food-grade packaging through mechanical recycling has revealed the results of its tracer-based sorting trials, achieving a 99.9% sorting purity at maximum production speed. The trials were held at Tomra’s recycling facility in Germany in September, testing the efficiency of Nextek’s technology in differentiating food packaging from non-food packaging. The separation of food and non-food packaging is necessary for meeting the requirements of the UK and EU Food Standards Authorities.
