From July 2023 to June 2024, 57% of these launches were in Confectionery, but there is a steep growth in Halloween-themed Cereal launches. Fifty-four percent of these thematic launches were packed in flat pouches, and the majority were packed in plastic.

The leading category for these launches was Dairy, with 23% of launches from July 2023 to June 2024 but there is a steep increase in the use of plant-based packaging for other categories such as Confectionery.  Additionally, Folded Box was the leading packaging type for plant-based packaging with a 20% share of NPD.

Flat pouches were the most launched packaging type, accounting for 23% of these launches, while vacuum pouches had the fastest growth at 259% over five years. Additionally, 38% of these launches featured recyclable claims, but the most significant increase was in using bio-based or plant-based packaging for premium NPD.
