Of these launches, 18% were in the Bakery category, while the fastest increase for fiber-based packaging use was in the Soft Drinks category. Carton was the leading fiber-based material for NPD. Nearly half (45%) of fiber-based launches had recyclable claims.

The leading category for these launches was Dairy, with 23% of launches from July 2023 to June 2024 but there is a steep increase in the use of plant-based packaging for other categories such as Confectionery.  Additionally, Folded Box was the leading packaging type for plant-based packaging with a 20% share of NPD.
